We have been using DBA since 1996 and we never used the accounting system I'm just starting to figure out how to use it with the GL accounts and I'm not sure which GL account to apply to a few different item classes.
These are all non inventory item numbers see below. I would have attached pics instead of typing them all out but i don't know how to attach a picture on this forum please let me know how to attach pics for the future.
 
Here are the Item numbers below.
 
#1 "SMALL TOOLS" I use this to purchase grinders and sanders that go out after a year or so and get thrown away.
     The class i use is called "STOO" I am using GL#52000 Production Supplies" along with GL#50000, 40000, 40200 and 12550.
 
#2 "CANCELLATION CHARGE" I use this item to charge my customer and invoice for any cancellations that are made.
     The class I use is called "FIN" (FINISHED GOODS) We use this class for all our manufactured items that we sell with the GL#12500 "Inventory Finished Goods"
     along with GL#50000, 40000, 40200 and 12550.
 
#3 "NREC CHARGE" I use this to charge my customer a one time non recurring engineering charge.
      The class I use is called "FIN" (FINISHED GOODS) the GL#12500 "Inventory Finished Goods"
     along with GL#50000, 40000, 40200 and 12550.
 
#4 "TOOLING CHARGE" I use this to invoice my customer for a one time tooling charge.
     The class I use is called "FIN" (FINISHED GOODS) the GL#12500 "Inventory Finished Goods"
     along with GL#50000, 40000, 40200 and 12550.
 
#5 "REWORK" I use this item to repair jobs that were rejected from the customer.
     The class I use is called "FIN" (FINISHED GOODS) the GL#12500 "Inventory Finished Goods"
     along with GL#50000, 40000, 40200 and 12550.
 
#6 "ARTWORK" I use this on a po to order artwork to be made for parts that we are building in house
      then sending to outside process to be silk screened.
     The class I use is called "SILK" (SILKSCREEN SUPPLIES) the GL#12550 "Inventory Wip-&-O/P"
      along with GL#50000, 40000, 40200 and 12550.
 
Please let me know if I chose the correct GL accounts and how to attach picture files on this forum.
