While the field exists in the database, there is not a standard DBA program to enter them, it was a future plan that never happened.  ISTS does have an add-on that enters them and prints the correct format bar code labels.

We are wanting to implement a barcode system for all parts and supplies (Type R and N parts).  What do I need to do to get this started and do you have any barcode software recommendations that work with DBA?

DBA recognizes Code 39 standard barcodes.

All you need is a keyboard wedge and a scanning gun which should be available through someone reasonably local.

All that a barcode really does is to replace keyboard entry.  For instance in Data Collection, rather than typing in the whole WO number (with the appropriate zeros) you simply scan it and the keyboard wedge converts that to the keyboard strokes.
