MS ACCESS Problems
05/22/03 at 13:29:50

???
Using Pervasive 2000 with DBA 99.2 on a client Server NT network. I downloaded the White Paper from MWaccounting & I can work on Access myself without any problems. The rub is that when I am working on Access all the other users get fatal errors & cannot do anything. When I get out of Access & restart the Pervasive Services on the Server everyone is ok again. I have the settings to Read Only on both the Server & client station where I work on Access.
Anyone have any suggestions. This is Access 2000 I am using.

Thanks

What is it that you are doing?  We have written extensive  Access applications that work through ODBC with DBA and have not seen the kinds of things you are describing.

I am just writing reports, because it is faster than using Crystal, which I use extensively.
I used grandazzo's ODBC connector from the White Paper & I use the connect all button to connect to all the files that show up. Should I not be connecting to all the files?

Thanks

Well, making an ODBC connection is really quite simple.  The little utility from Greg just makes it more of a "wizard" type of thing than anything else.

As to the problems you are having, I'm not sure what is going on.

If you would like to call me, I can perhaps guide you through some possible tests and resolutions, but it would be a chargeable service.
