File Names in Maintain Database (Read 1140 times)

heinzc Browser Hello Posts: 7 Gender:	File Names in Maintain Database 06/12/03 at 10:41:12 What is the best way to find the correct file in Maintain Database? Right now for example, I am looking for a file containing at least the following: Item Number, Description, Vendor, and Vendor Number.

You can print the field names in each file under UT-H. I did this once and created a binder for reference although it is a time consuming task. The file you want in this case is MTICMSTR.bxx.

BKSBVEND is the cross reference between your part number and the Vendor part number but the Description is stored in BKICMSTR.

Tim, those are old fields and no longer maintained by the system. They date back to when there was a limit of 3 Vendors per item. The current programs update the BKSBVEND file which can have unlimited number of vendors for a given item. So if your vendor information has not changed in a long time (3 or 4 years ago I believe is when that was changed) then you could use the MTICMSTR data but anything more recent needs to look at BKSBVEND.
