If you only use it to launch a new session after a crash without rebooting, it is fine. But if you use it to actually launch and run simultaneous sessions, you can cause memory conflicts and you use up additional user counts. It was introduced initially because people new to the Windows environment and mouse use would inadvertently do more than double click on the icon and launch multiple sessions without realizing it.
