Pervasive Upgrade (Read 1267 times)

nicknails Member Posts: 57 Gender:	Pervasive Upgrade 11/18/03 at 12:34:20 My server, Windows 2000 Server, is currently running Pervasive 2000. Is there an easy way to upgrade to Pervasive 2000i. The only CD that I have is DBA 2002.1. I'm hoping that I can download an upgrade file. Is this as easily said as it is done?

According to Pervasive, I currently have 2000i. I must have installed it when I did a DBA upgrade a while ago. Anyways, I'm trying to set up ODBC, but no pervasive engines are listed in Services. Server machine is 2000 Server and clients are all 2000. From what I read, I should have 2 engines (transactional and relational) listed in Services. Am I missing something?

I am unclear in your message as to which machine you are checking services from.

There's only three clients, but we have no problems at all. I originally dicovered this because I am trying to set up ODBC so I can experiment with it and the such.

Lynn_Pantic Administrator evolution (n) - gradual change to a different form Posts: 5681	Re: Pervasive Upgrade Reply #7 - 11/20/03 at 06:42:54 I suspect you are using the Workgroup version of Pervasive rather than Client/Server, which is fine given the number of users you have. I think that may be listed as an Application rather than a Service and I believe the ODBC configuration is different and may involve installing the Workgroup Engine at the client stations.

Nick,
As we discussed on the phone, you do have the Workstation/Workgroup 2000i.

You will need to install the Workstaton software on each of your clients.

After you do this, you can create a pervasive Engine DSN on each workstation to access the Workgroup data.

Remember, you need to run the off menu program ODBCDDF in order to generate ODBC compatable DDF files in the same directory as your company data.
