beginning check register
01/12/04 at 12:28:19

Our corporate parent has completely changed our reporting structure and I had to redo our chart of accounts at the beginning of the year.  I copied our old data to a different company to preserve the history and wanted to clear all the GL data and just enter beginning balances for 2004.  What I don't remember is how to get the detail for the uncleared checks to show in our checking account.  I seem to remember a program that would allow check detail to be entered but did not affect the G/L.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Sean

There is no such program.  I suggest copying the BKGLCHK file from the backup company and then use GL-J and delete all the cleared checks (or not, if you want to keep check register history).
