We are running W2K Server SP4 with multiple W2K SP4 clients, but to be honest, without
most of the security updates installed, as I have enough to do without being constantly on my toes because of Microsoft's security issues. Unless it is a critical update, I will wait until they release SP5, if there ever is such an animal. Operating behind a firewall with antivirus software has proven itself effective enough.
Anyway, IMHO, I would suspect one of your security updates is causing the problem, and at the same time concur with Lorne... install only what you really need.
