last cost vs standard cost

We would like to have our purchase orders bring up the standard cost NOT the last cost on all our po's.  Is there a way to change the default in DBA to make this happen?

Put the default in IN-B so we could choose for each part#.

I would like to have some inventory#s on  POs bring up a $00.00.    Frt, surcharges etc. vary...but we use one frt part number,  one fuel surcharge #  for many different vendors.
BUT I like the way DBA brings up the last cost on most inventory items.          SOOOOOOOOOO  I would want the default in IN-B.

I too would like to have POs pull in the standard cost instead of last or average cost.

Easy enough to do across the board based on a default setting.  But there Laura goes wanting it item specific.....  Wink

Let me see what I can do.

I would like to see the basic modification made, globally, so that the most people benefit.

The special cases should be handled through individual customization.

Don't hold up the thing over one or two special requests.

1. Does DBA not pull prices from PO-H?   If you have used PO-H does this override "last cost"  ?

2. Why would one want standard cost over last cost on the PO?

3.  If default was set where would "standard costs" come from?

1.  Yes, DBA looks at PO-H first but you need to have pricing in PO-H for every vendor you may purchase something from to have it there to pull.  IS Tech has an option that PO-H can be updated by vendor with each PO receipt if you turn it on in SD-Q so you can automatically populate the PO-H database.
2.  Who knows?  Wink  But that is why we would make it a default setting rather than change it for everybody.  I can see it if the standard cost is based on purchasing production quantities but occasionally you pay a premium for an expedite or something, you don't want that premium price pulling in as Last Cost on the roduction quantity PO.
3.  The standard costs for purchased parts can be entered by clicking the Standard Cost button in IN-B or in IN-L-A.
