MR-I  Abandoning a Work Order Suffix
03/02/05 at 12:50:06

We are a piece part contract manufacturer.
We use the second number or work order suffix to keep track of the number of times we have built a finished good.  We call it the lot number.

Example work orders are 1563-1, ..., 1563-25

We want to use MR-I, Generate Work Orders, which will ends all work orders end with 1. (1564-1, 1565-1,..., etc.)

We do not use rolls or tanks of materials, so we do not need lots for tracking material.  Are work order sub-job numbers a good thing?  Are lot numbers worth entering work orders manually?    Smiley
