Workgroup...can't connect via ODBC
04/28/05 at 11:49:22

Workgroup 2000i SP4

I'm trying to set up ODBC connection to get UPS track no into DBA.  I've set up the DSN on the machine that runs DBA.  Both machines are running the Workgroup Engine.  On the machine that runs UPS, I can see the database in Pervasive Control Center under the remote machine, but can't access it:  Connection to database failed/You cannot connect because remote ODBC connections are allowed only to P.SQL server engines.

What am I missing?

Fixed it.  Upgraded to Pervasive V8.  Now can access "server" workgroup engine ODBC from "client" workgroup machine.  Don't need workgroup engine running on client.

i just saw your postings.

pervasive 2000i workgroup and earlier never had relational access between workgroup engines. you could only have relational access to the files from the same workstation that is running the engine.

pervasive 8.x and newer, for the workgroup, they added the ability to have relational access between worksations. emulating what one would have in a client server setup.

fyi.
