Error 11 in Maintain Database
07/19/05 at 14:18:49

When I start Maintain Database, the screen shows my datafiles in the window, but when I select one it gives me an error 11 - the specified filename is invalid.  Key=G:\dbamfgdefault\filename.b

(No backslash shows between "dbamfg" and "default".)

So far I have:

Created new DDF's
Re-ran the workstation setup
Ran the mdbfxreg utility
Slapped the monitor silly

Does anyone have any suggestions, before I move on to my "dropkick"  solution?

Thanks,

Recreate the drive mapping to DBAMFG and then run MDBFXREG again. That should deal with it.

HTH.

But my drive mapping is good.  My desktop icon starts the program and dba works fine in all menus.  The Maintain Database program sees the files in the proper directory on the dba machine, and shows me the list.  If it can do that, isn't my drive mapping good?

Yet, when I select one of the files shown, it says error 11, invalid filename.

What about that missing backslash?  I tried naming the path with a slash on the end, but no help.

Thanks

Not sure. If what you have done doesn't work and you don't want to delete and re-create the drive mapping I have no idea what to suggest.

Sometimes I have to be told to "SHUT UP AND LISTEN!"

So, I disconnected the drive mapping and then reconnected it.  I restarted the machine and ran mdbfxreg, and opened Maintain Database, selected a file, and it worked!

Just like you said it would.

Thanks,
Wayne
