WO Notes problem
11/16/05 at 08:23:53

Just noticed this problem.

Looked at WORKORD.B through UT-H, Access and Pervasive and all state the field size for MTWO.WIP.INSTR is 60x10.  However, the user can enter 70 characters.  When Printing the work order, only 60 of each line print however when the user goes into the WO and looks at the notes,  all 70 characters are there!

How is DBA saving 70 characters to a 60 character field?  How to I change WORKORD.B or BKWOA.RUN to reflect the right number of characters?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

Latest update moved the notes to a new file, ISWODESC which has more characters and allows for an unlimited number of lines.

Thanks Lynn,

But how do I get BKWOC3.RTM to print all 70 charactors per line instead of 60?  Any new work order notes over 60 chars gets clipped.

Actually all three (BKWOC1 - BKWOC3) clip the instructions to 60 chars.  I looked in the download for 9/25 and I don't see any new forms.  I also checked BKWOC.RUN and it's the one from 9/25.

Lynn,

Installed the 11/18/05 update last night and the patch this morning.  My route notes are still clipped.

Any ideas?

You need to copy the RTX version of the traveler to RTM  to get the extended field length.

Does that mean we'll lose our custom stuff?  How can we get the field length without redoing everything?

In Evo at least you should be able to open the new RTX in the editor, copy the field  then open your custom RTM and paste.  May also work in Classic.

Thanks Lynn,  Got it.  I opened the new one and the old one up side by side and made my changes to the new one.

Works great!
