Norton Antivirus 2006 (Read 1546 times)

Kelloggs Active Member Do crazy people know they are crazy? Posts: 784 Gender:	Norton Antivirus 2006 01/26/06 at 15:08:53 We just installed Norton Antivirus 2006 on a couple of computers. Every time we try to load DBA, it complete freezes. We have disable auto protect, exclude the entire F:\DBAMFG , exclude *.RUN, but the problem continues. Does anyone on the forum has experience this problem? Regards, Kelloggs

I also excluded the dbamfg folder as well as the *.run files ... it helped some.

If the Norton is scanning them every time too, exclude the ICO files in the ISTS folder. That will speed up the screen refresh.

We've dumped Norton as well and have noticed improvements. We're using Panda - the Webadmin is great - you can set up profiles online and everyone assigned to that profile will be updated any time you make a change to it (like adding C:\ISTS to the ignore list).

We're only a small company and it's worth it even to us to have the centralized admin. Can't imagine a place with 50 or 100 stations to keep updated.
