Next Symposium/Training Class(es)
06/09/06 at 19:31:06

Looking into September 19-22 in New England - probably Manchester NH to avoid the Boston/Logan Airport traffic

Also considering midwest in late August - Cast your votes - Chicago or Minneapolis.  Need to move quickly to line up a facility either place.

Greg - I LOVE  San Amtonio - Next February is a definite possibility - anybody else interested?

I'll almost certainly be in Manchester, barring other conflicts that may come up between now and then.

I would certainly attend as it is only 45 mins from here, however, timing is everything and another trip is scheduled for that week.   embarrassed

I would need to know the actual dates in August for the Chicago trip ...my husband is a huge Cubs fan!  I will definitely be going to one of them...just need more details so I can get approval from the boss.

I love Chicago too!

Our top 3 distributors (customers in EVO world) are outside of Chicago... maybe I could make it a combo trip with the Symposium.

BTW... I got to see the Cubs play at home last year.  Wrigley Field rocks!  Not to mention... they have a one of a kind draft beer system there that includes our Trumix Blender!!

If you did a symposium in Texas, maybe I could get my "not cheap inexpensive, cheap cheap" boss to let me and our purchaser go.  I would point out that the San Antonio airport is a mess- been under construction for ages.  I would lobby for Austin, especially since I'm in Georgetown and the drive would be less than an hour.  Also the Austin/Bergstrom Airport is nice.  Of course, this opinion is very biased, San Antonio is a nice city. If you are coming to Chicago area, may I recommend Schaumburg area  - plenty of hotels in area  to rent conference rooms, users do not have to pay to park (as in downtown Chicago), and plenty of shopping (Woodfield Shopping Mall) !, and for the men, yes, there is a Hooters.

Schaumburg is in the Northwest Suburbs, about 20 miles northwest of downtown Chicago and easily accessible via tollways and metra.

I am going to try and do both New England (Manchester week of Sept 12 is what it is looking like) and Chicago (August 21 week or perhaps October).  Texas will have to wait until next year.

Now another question - is it better for us to provide lunch so you have the opportunity to sit with other attendees and share ideas, or keep the cost down by not providing lunch so that more people can get approval to attend?  By the time they add the plus tax plus service charge plus catering fee, a lunch that would cost maybe $10 at Applebees ends up costing up to $30/person so for 2 days, that adds up to $60 to the cost of the meeting.

Comments please!!

And as soon as dates and locations are finalized, I will send something out.

September in New England is beautiful, go with no lunch, we will take you to a place (besides Applebees) to get our famous New England Clam Chowdah (about $3.95 for a Bowl)

Plenty of restaurants and cheap eats in Chicago and Schaumburg.  I vote for training fee only.

Schaumburg is close to the airport too!  Would be such a tragic shame to have to go to Schaumburg for business...sigh...lol just kidding.  Seriously, it would be an ideal location for an event.

Manchester would be a good spot for training.  I am sure I'd swing it with my boss, not sure he'd fly me out of state  Sad
