migrate from standalone to server
06/23/06 at 06:33:29

Hello!

We currently have a stand-alone computer running EVO, but need to migrate the data to our Win2003 server so that we can have two computers access it.  We've purchased another "seat" for EVO, but I'm unclear as to what needs to be done to migrate the data to the server and set up both client computers to access it.

We only have the original DBA 2004.1 installation disk.  Is there a better way to just install EVO instead of going through all of the updates?

Thanks in advance for your help!

-Erich

Install Pervasive to the server (for 2003 server, Pervasive 9 is recommended, Pervasive 2000 is not supported but may work)  and then simply copy DBAMFG to the server from the stand-alone and share with full rights.

On the machine that currently runs Evo, edit the C:\ISTS\TASPRO7.INI file to change the path statements to the new server.

On the other station, browse to the server DBAMFG and double click on EVOERP.EXE and the workstation Setup will run.

Lynne,

Thanks for the response.  I got a hold of Lori and we're working through some other issues...

In the meantime, and possibly related, how do we go about upgrading to a newer version of Pervasive?  Is it a download, or do we need to purchase another license?

Thanks,
-Erich
