output from T6GLN.RUN & BKGLN.RUN don't match
10/05/06 at 07:25:38
I'm still working on getting stmts to look like our old system that everyone is used to seeing. I had a correct stmt being produced by GL-N using the bkgln.run program; didn't look pretty but was correct. I am now using t6gln.run and get a good looking and correct asset page but the second page has lost all brackets on negative numbers. All the correct absolute values of the numbers are there but of course the totals don't add because some of the numbers are negative and should have had brackets around them. The correct totals are printed but one can't use a calculator to add the column and match the printout. I haven't found a thread about this. But I
can't be the first to see this.
I'm using evo 8/11 and t6gln 5/7/06. What did I miss? How should I have found out that I needed to change my menu to point to t6gln instead of bkgln in the first place? What are the most current t6*.run programs? I feel like I'm having to play hide and seek with things that should just be there? Should I be looking somewhere else? maybe not on the right mailing list?

There is a later T6GLN program- 8/11/06 is what I got from Lynn to fix the problem I was talking about in my post under Problem Reports- Custom RTM/s (last post date 9/16?) and there is a later one than that that apparently calls the right RTM but I haven't seen it yet.
I don't know if the newer program will address your problems.

I just ran my custom Balance sheet and it was out of balance, then I ran the standard balance sheet to compare, and the current earnings were not right. I ran the custom again and it was correct. ???
I have brackets everywhere but in the owner's equity section, though the addition is correct. It is nice to see positive numbers there (!) but it is not correct.

You don't
need
to change to any of the new T6 programs. It's not like the old ones are outdated - they still work, and in fact if there was a bug in the original DBA code the ISTS guys often fix it.
However, you CAN get a list of all the current menu items by going to
http://www.istechsupport.com/menu_changes.asp
And, see a recent thread about potential improvements:
