Location of ODBC data files
10/12/06 at 13:03:18

At the CR training in Nashua I discovered I have my ODBC connection set up wrong, since I have available tables with all company extensions - *.B, *.B03, *.B04, etc. It has always seemed to work fine, but I thought maybe it would be better to use the ODBC DDFs in the co directory.

However, the problem I'm having is that I want to use the same name, since I have hundreds of reports already done that work. I "removed" the System DSN called "DBA" and tried to create a new one. After I click "add" it prompts for the location, which I select as the folder my real company data is in, call it "DBA" and then "Create". It says "You cannot have two with the same name" or some such thing. The interesting thing is that if you click the dropdown box of available databases (next to "create"), it shows DBA still there. Is there some way to delete that, or what do I do to get this right?

In Pervasive Control Center, Right click 'Configuration' under your Pervsive.SQL Engine name.
Select 'Maintain Named Databases'
Log in to the Server

The Registered DB names listed here are the names that show up in the drop down box next to Create.
Delete your old DBA here, or change the Dictionary and Location paths.

I have a bunch of DB names set up for the same company data (my live company). When I go here to try and delete the unwanted "Registered DB Name" it asked if want to delete the data including DDF's.  I do NOT want to delete the data in the path given on the right I just want the name to go away from the list.  The DB's do not exist anymore because I deleted them.
I am trying ultimately to delete the DNS I am really using for ODBC and reinventing it because I cannot get the Security to take.  I can enter a password but when I try to add a user I get the following message:
[Pervasive][ODBC Client Interface][LNA][Pervasive][ODBC Engine Interface]Unable to open table: X$User

I don't see a drop down box next to Create because I don't see Create.

Help!
