Active Types
02/27/07 at 06:43:34

We have some items that are 'obsolete' and have changed their status to such under IN-B.  These parts still show up on MRP reports.  Is there any Active type that supersedes and items inclusion in MRP, or do I also need to change the 'Include in MRP generation' setting to No?

I think you can use MR-D (enter MRP Parameters) to do this.  When you run MR-D, select individual parts
if the parts are not w/n a range (otherwise use the range option) and then set the"Include in MRP Generation?" to N to make MRP ignore the item number.

If it is Obsolete, there should be no demand for it so MRP should be ignoring it anyhow.  Is it Reorder Levels that are triggering the MRP?  That is hte only thing I can think of that would cause MRP to trigger an action for an Obsolete item.

Obsolete should be ignored by MRP (or at least have an option in MR-F to ignore them).

Thanks for the response.  Looks like you can do part 'Types', but not Active Status types.

Yes, there are numbers in the reorders so maybe that's triggering it.

I agree, that an option in MR-F would be good to ignore various types (not just Obsolete) or even just have the system ignore obsolete items as a rule.  For now, it looks like I need to turn off the MRP inclusion.
