Reopen a sales order

For some reason a sales order was closed and only a partial amoount was invoiced.  The sales order was for 100 - invoiced was 76 - the sales order was closed and I still have to invoice another 24.  Can I do this?  What problems will arise if I reopen a sales order.  Thanks,
