EVO and Vista
08/28/07 at 11:36:45

Is there any ongoing effort to find a way to install evo on a Vista machine?  runing Vista Ultimate on one machine and I have not had any problem getting all software to work even though a few applications required either a download of an updated driver, or a setting in the security panel to be changed, I have not been able to figure out a work around for EVO.

Also, just so I can verify my process, what are the proper steps to install EVO on a new workstation?

This was previously addressed on a different thread.  You have to right click and "Run As Administrator" the first time and allow all the registry settings to be updated.  Once that is done once, then the regular user profile should be able to run it.   You may also have to update Pervasive.  PSQL 2000 and Vista is not a supported combination.  If you do need the update, IS Tech is a Pervasive reseller.  Contact us for upgrade pricing.

The normal procedure to load Evo on a new workstation is simply to install the Pervasive client, then browse to the server DBAMFG or EVOERP folder (as applicable) and double click on EVOERP.EXE and it will run the Workstation Setup program and create the desktop icon.

Sorry, I couldnt find the previous thread.  Anyway just so I can prove how dumb I am,  "right click and run as administrator" what?  EVO? I am so far unable to get the EVO.EXE workstation set up to run.  I did get pervasive client 9.5 to load and can run classic DBA just fine.

Nevermind, I am not as dumb as I look ( as far as you know)  I ran the set up program as administrator with my virus scan an firewall off and it worked perfectly.  Thank you for your help.
