Hand Held - Print Labels
02/22/08 at 12:02:37

Does anyone use the Hand Held - Print Labels program?  Does it work or is it still being developed?

When I use it, no data is on our label - only the text of "Item Number" and "Lot Number".  I can print the same RTM with the same item information in another program that, I believe, was specially made for us - but it doesn't seem to work in the Hand Held - Print Label program.

Any information would be great!

Dawn,

I already posted something on 2/4 about this:
Quote from gtladmin on 02/04/08 at 12:23:20:
We've been testing this module more, and have found that when in HH-B (print labels), there are a couple items we've noticed. First of all, no matter what part # you print, you only get the text UM: and then any text you added to the Misc field. Nothing else prints, not event the bar code. The RTM clearly has the bar codes in it, why they don't print, or anything else on the label for that matter, is a mystery. Also, you can't lookup a part #, or look up a different RTM (if you had one). Yuck.

So why can't we get the labels to print properly?

Val

Still haven't figured it out. Read thru the help file, figured I had to assign parts to a label group, so I did that on a few in our test company.  Created a new .RTM copied from the T7ING1.RTM and called it T7ING1A.RTM (A for the group label assignment).  The labels don't print any differently.  Ugh...

Oh yeah, and like you, if I use the same RTM in IN-G it works!  The bar code and other info is there.

Thanks for the response!  Sounds like it's in the hands of ISTS!

I tried printing labels in HH-B today and got the same results after entering through  these error messages:
File T7INGA.SRC line: 131
The function name used was not acceptable: VLD_ITEM
The field: VLD_ITEM() was not found.  You may include only active fields in an expression to be compiled at runtime.

I tried to print labels via HH-B after the update and am pretty sure I received errors similar to what you listed above.  (Not 100% sure on the error messages as I tried it a several days ago.)  But, I too couldn't get it to print.

I just tried again to see if I received the same error messages as listed above, but now I WAS able to print using HH-B.  The only difference I know of is that I changed the default on the new EVO notes from Y to N.
