Problem with the new evo notes
04/18/08 at 10:55:40

The new notes appears to work on all the computers on our network except one.  When I try to save the notes settings when printing a Packing Slip or Pick Ticket they do not get saved and it seems to add notes that we do not want to the settings and document.  But this is only happening on one machine.  I'M STUMPED. undecided

the notes settings are saved in the PC's local c:\ists folder in a file called Evosettings.ini it is just a text file, open it up and have a look. try comparing it to another users evosettings.ini. The section you are looking for is the [SOB] section for the ACK. and [SOC] for Pack Slip. ..

Let me know what you find.

Turns out we have the same problem on all our machines.  The first time we save the notes settings it works but it will not save the settings after that.  If I edit the settings file in C:\ISTS it will then let me save the setting one time and then we have the problem again.  The notes that print on the document are always the ones saved the first time so the only way to change the notes that print is to edit the settings file.  I don't know if this happens with all the docs I only know it happens in SO-C.  Because we want different notes on the Pick Ticket and Packing Slip we need to change these settings quite often so this is definately a problem.

Looks like this is a problem everywhere we save the types of notes to be printed on our documents.  We can save once and then we can't change the settings without editing the settings file. cry

Odd, I just did the same thing here, went into SOC, and the saved defaults came up, I clicked the check box for the SO, and it un-tagged it, then I clicked it again and the dual-list boxes came up. I added the CSH type then I saved those settings then Printed.  I got out, and came back in and the CSH note that I added was in my default that comes up..

So it looks like it is working here.. You are saying that when you change the settings and save, that if there is already data in your INI it does not save it?

.... a thought just popped into my head.. Are you doing this from SO-C or are you doing this from SO-A that when you save it asks you if you want to print a Ack,Pack, or Inv.  I found a bug on Thursday that the notes don't work with the SO-A save/print.. I have since fixed that and sent it to Lynn on Friday.
