The 4th quarter 941 shows line 5a, Taxable Social Security Wages, overstated by $4800 even. The "Subject to" report for the quarter shows the correct number. All the other wage and tax numbers on the 941 are correct. Oh, and the schedule B liability numbers are correct, even though the tax liability is overstated on the 941. I don't find any way to see the detail of the calculations on the 941, so I can't tell where the $4800 is coming from. Any ideas? We keep a spreadsheet listing the taxable wage categories and the tax liabilities generated for each payroll, as an aid to making payroll tax deposits. This is how we caught the overstated FICA/SS wages. The payroll register does not list a FICA/SS wage number, so we have to back into it, subtracting Sec 125 pretax items. That works OK until someone goes over the FICA/SS wage limit, then it is tough. Is there any report that shows YTD FICA/SS taxable wages paid? We are dba classic ver 2004.1, IStech update 5/8/06 Thanks,
