System Error and Pervasive Rebuild
01/21/09 at 12:32:14

Had a file show up in the Pervasive log with a 116.5.0 error, which I know means I need to rebuild the file.

How easy is the Pervasive Rebuild util to use?  Is it quick?  I was thinking of rebuilding all my files, but need to know who's done this and how did it work.

The file was mkeclass--what is this file associated with?

Thanks,

Val

Mkeclass is where all your SD-Q settings are saved... you kinda need that file.

I rebuilt all my files for all my companies, it was not as painful as I thought it might be.  The mkeclass file would not rebuild for some reason, so I ended up restoring from a backup and rebuilding that one to make it match all the other nicely rebuilt files I now have.  I'm all set for now.

Thanks

There are probably some technical differences but for all intents and purposes they accomplish the same thing.  The Pervasive Rebuild utility allows you to select a number of files rather than the UT-C reindex program that is one file at a time.

Are there written instructions on how to rebuild in pervasive?  I would like to understand the rebuild option defaults.  (i.e. specify the rebuild configuration)

Thanks
