Windows 8 Install
05/13/13 at 10:13:10

Hi, I am trying to install Pervasive v11 and DBA on a new Windows 8 machine.  I go through the normal installs and then get an error indicating a missing WBTRV32.DLL file.

I'm thinking that I have an issue because of Windows 8.  Do I need the SP3 upgrade for Pervasive?  and if so, do I continue to run the 32 or 64 bit on the workstation.

Thank you,

I have Pervasive 11.20.015.000 on Win8x64 with no issues.

Don't know if that helps directly or not...

If this is a client, even if it is a 64 bit machine, you need to load the 32 bit Pervasive client.

For what it is worth, I had an instance today trying to upgrade a workstation that had been running 2000i (unsupported) on Win 7 to 11.3.  Add/Remove programs for 2000i didn't work, nor did the CLEANUP utility so we finally resorted to just installing 11.3 on top of what was there.  First pass didn't work but loading Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and Repair the PSQL 11.3 installation worked.  No idea why but worth a shot...
