Crystal Reports Server on the same box as EVO?
07/14/10 at 08:39:07
Has anyone installed both Crystal Reports server and EVO on the same box. I am thinking of doing this and want to find out as much as I can about it first.
Thanks!

that is an expensive route for crystal reports server. i have put crystal reports server on the same box as evo. i am referring to the server version of crystal reports which is not the devoper version. it's more for just managing reports and user thru a web channel.
cheaper to use a crystal report viewer like CVIEW from Chelsea Technolgies in NZ. 5 user license is $200. then you develop the report on your machine. put report on server, and users have Cview on their PC and can open / run reports.

Thanks for sharing your experience with it. I am just worried about the playing together nicely.
I have been a Crystal junkie for about 20 years now and know the drawback$ but it was the best solution for what we do here.
Thanks again!

well, at least the nice thing is that all users have a web browser, and you have central management. but there is no problem with performance interference as far as that goes.
