Change item number

I thought that with the latest update, we could change item numbers without having everyone log out of the system......Just tried it and it still complains that there are users logged into the system...... cry

Nice - Thanks.   Wink
BTW - when it does exit out because of a record lock....does it give you a message that says it did not complete properly?

I believe it will sit there on the record lock waiting for you to click OK but I am not sure.  The actual part number in the master file is the last thing changed so if the part you are changing from no longer exists, it is done.

OK - that makes me a little nervous......I guess my other question would be....let's say it starts the process, makes changes, hits the lock and sits waiting....can you clear the lock to let it finish (does it insist that you do so), if you stop the process (if you even can) can you end up in a situation where some records are changed and some are not?  (Kind of like a windows crash between 98 and 7 - the difference between an messed up exit and an orderly one Smiley  )

Am I just better off, doing what we do now which is wait til the next early morning, kick everyone out of the pool, lock out log ins and do the change before people come in and start screaming about not being able to get into the system.
