Help! Cannot open Classic or EVO
05/31/11 at 09:13:10

Came into work this morning and tried to launch DBA Classic and got the message "An Error occurred when trying to load Btrieve: Error: 3012"

I tried to launch EVO and got the message:  Error #3012 Unidentified error. File name BKSYMSTR. Program name C:|dbamfg\evoerpmenu.rwn  EXE path: C:\ISTS

Tried a reboot and got a message about a Database Service Manger with this info:
C:\DOCUM~1\Prebco\LOCALS~1\temp\WER9bb8.dir00\NTDBSMGR.EXE.mdmp
C:\DOCUM~1\Prebco\LOCALS~1\temp\WER9bb8.dir00\appcompt.txt

Any help would be appreciated.

It's up and running now.  I'm not sure if this could have anything to do with it but I downloaded the newest version of Adobe Reader the other day and it also installed a McAfee virus scanner in which we already have a virus program.  So I decided to uninstall it, reboot and now it's all good.  I hope that is all it was.

For future reference, (in case anybody stumbles upon this thread trying to solve another issue) Pervasive Status codes in the 3000 or 3100 series generally indicate a network related issue.  Start with network hardware, firewalls and permissions.  My guess is that whatever you downloaded changed something on that front.
