Neg Inventory
10/19/11 at 09:24:54

Our Inventory is still boned (sorry), but were looking to fix it, but I figure before we start doing PI we need to make sure we fix whatever procedures were messing up so after the PI everything stays accurate.

Can anyone point me to some info as to why our FGI inventory is going negative? Someone mentioned something about running the Batch Finished Production, and we have been, but the inventory is still mucking up.

Is there any easy to follow flow diagrams or whatever docs that might help figure this out. Search function on these boards doesn't seem to work so I'm sorry if this has been answered before.

When you do finish Production on an item, it will add the Qty completed to you FGI, plus an entry on your inventory transactions.
Can you see it?

If FGI is going negative, then you are shipping things that you haven't made (as far as the system is concerned).

So where are we neglecting to say, "hey, we made this"? Gonna guess "Finished Production" should do everything.

It should.  I would have to look at transaction details to know exactly what is going on.

IN-E would be a place to start

That is a start but I can't tell from this report where the problem is.  Better report would be IN-E with no date range but for a single item that we want to examine.

So I ran IN-E again with just 1 FGI part, and anywhere I did this where the Qty on hand is negative, the only inventory transaction are "Shipment" type transactions.

Does that help this issue?
