Sorry shadowcaster, somehow I didn't see your first post. I'm certainly no expert so there may be a better way, but this is what I've found to work.
I suggest using the general import program (UT-A > T7GENIMP) with your import file. For fields:
- ID - first 8 characters is table name (append a space if the table is only 7 characters), the rest identifies the record in the table (usually just the ID, but in the case of lines for sales orders, etc. it's slightly more complex)
- TYPE - note type (e.g. CSN, STD, HID)
- CDATE - not required, but recommended: as far as I can tell, should be the date of note creation
- CTIME - same as above: time of note creation
- CWHO - same as above: user who created note
- ALPHA - the actual note
If you think you ever might want to change the note via import, make sure each note can be identified in one of the following ways:
- ID + Type (Key)
- ID + Type + CDate (Key2)
- ID + CDate (Key3)
- ID + Contact (Key4)
If you haven't used the general import program before, or have any questions, let me know.
