Standard Cost Questions
06/17/13 at 10:55:15

Am I correct?

1. Standard Cost is always the total of the base price, freight and etc.
2. The only way to change Standard cost is in IN-L-A
3.  Standard Cost is not effected by UT-K-F

First of all, Base Price does not affect Standard Cost at all. Base Price is related to selling price.

Depending on the Item Type you can enter the following in IN-B (there's a button for it, or you can press PageDn).
On Purchased Parts you can enter Material and Freight.
On Labor Items you can enter Labor, Fixed- and Variable OH.

There may be some others but those are the ones I'm familiar with.

Thanks David,
I didnt mean Base Price.  I should have used "material" which is what IN-L-A uses.

Standard Cost is not changed by UT-K-F.  It is used by UT-K-F and copied to the Average and Last Cost fields.

Standard cost is the sum of all costs for that item.
Depending on item type, the cost will be dependent on the sum of the costs associated with that item type.

A type R item is cost plus freight

A type A item is the cost of the bom components plus routing cost ect.

What I usually find is if we make it it costs too much !
