get 10 yr old financials.... backdate YE start?
12/13/13 at 11:46:40

Can I trick DBA to get old financial statements?   If I back date the dates in AM-A could I possibly get income statements & balance sheets from 1998?

Thanks
laura

Not AM-A.  You could make a new company that is a copy of your existing company, initialize the ISGLDATE file, reset the fiscal year start date back several years in AD-A, reset the AM-N dates and run UT-K-D.  A lot of work.

Then how would you suggest it be done??  Or is this the only way?

That is the only way.  The Chart of Account files that financial statements use only go back 6 years.  The original DBA version before we changed it only went back 2.  GL-C and GL-D can print transaction detail as far back as you want.

Going forward, I suggest the following:

Every 6 years (or less - could do it every year if you want) after taxes are done and last year is finalized, copy your company to a new company. We use a 2 year date, so if I was doing it this year it would be company 13.

Just be aware that once you've been using Evo for 100 years you might have to change strategy...  Grin

David, I had actually been doing that for many years for  that very reason, but after we got our new server and updates in the summer of 2012, the old backup companies act funny,  not all the menus work and I get funny message.  I just assumed the guy we paid to do it failed to update the bups.  He did know to do and probably tried to update the bups, and I guess he must have done something because some of the menu options work.

We make copies of our working company every year after taxes before purging/merging/archiving/etc.
