Routing Notes & IN-A
01/29/14 at 09:47:09

On the newest version, we're having several issues.

First, we had notes in our part routings with critical information and with the new version those notes are gone.  (we Updated from the Aug 2012 version)  Is there a way to retrieve those?  If not, can we change our routing program and get them back?

Second, in the Inventory Inquiry when you click on the routing icon it errors out and the routing screen goes blank.  However, before it goes blank, you can see some of the notes listed under the heading "Instructions".

*edit* I should probably be more specific.  The notes were tied to sequences in various routings.  Also, this is only in EVO.  If I use DBA it is all there.

Disregard.  We decided to uninstall the update and go back to the version we had.  This is a function we can't do without.

There is not a way, that I know of, to uninstall an Evo/DBA update.
The only way to go back is to restore en entire \DBAMFG folder from backup.
Any data that was enter will be lost.

We have been working with DBA/Evo since 2001? 2002?, if there is something we have learn is that updates do not always work.
There has been lots of times where updates fix something but brake something else.

What we do is to install the updates on a virtual machine.
We use Oracle VM VirtualBox (https://www.virtualbox.org/ )
It is free, and very fast.

We have install WinXP, and Pervasive 10. It is a very quick installation and it has proven to be
an excellent way to test updates, new features, and existing ones.

if you need help with a Virtual Box just ask.

That's precisely what we had to do.  Restore from a backup and re-enter some things.  Thankfully, the rework was fairly minimal.

I like the idea of testing the updates first but have no idea what or how to use virtual box.  How do you make it work without pervasive licensing??
 Huh

As long it is for testing or developing they will not tell you no to install it
But they will not tell you to do it either.

Google VirtualBox,
There are How To's, FAQ, even youtube videos.
VM's are simple to install and use.

The hosting machine (where you are going to install VirtualBox)
must have enough memory example: Windows 7, you must have at least 12 GB of memory, 16 would be better.

 Cool
