I had been using Win8 for a couple years and didn't want to upgrade to Win10 because Pervasive is not supported on it (IIRC). I had a lot of trouble getting Evo to run on it, but it eventually did. It seemed to run "ok", but I had a lot of freezing issues on the machine, not all in Evo necessarily, but especially in Crystal accessing the Evo data through ODBC. I got a new computer a month or so ago and got a Win7 with upgrade to 10 option. Got Evo running on 7 and did the upgrade. Everything works great on the 10 machine. I would personally suggest 10/64. But as previously pointed out, you need to install the Pervasive 32-bit client. If you're hesitant about running a non-supported combination, go ahead and get the 7 downgrade with free upgrade to 10, install nothing but Pervasive and Evo on it and upgrade to 10* to see if it works. If not, go back to 7, which is still a great OS and will be supported for a reasonably long time. *the Upgrade that comes with a Dell system is not really an "up"grade. It's a Do-Over; IOW you will kill the original installation and any existing programs will have to be installed. We had downloaded a "real" upgrade a while ago when it was offered as a free upgrade to 8/8.1 and it worked fine to do a regular upgrade and registered/activated properly.
