Negative qty WO not shown in IN-A
09/14/16 at 07:20:05

I realize that this is not the intended use of WO to do negative qty orders, but we often do them to take apart items for rebuild into a different configuration.  I am wondering why they don't show in IN-A and if anyone knows a way around this.

I have a question was this a parent part that you were wanting to pull from stock and disassemble or did it come back from a customer or something like that?

Parent Part.  We had it in stock for several years and wanted to reconfigure it to be another similar part that had a demand.

You could use IN-C to do a negative adjustment on that parent part and reference the WO. That would pull the parent part out inventory and it would then show in the transactions for that parent part.

The IN-A (and other programs) Rebuild Stock Status logic has always calculated the On Work Order quantity based on the Completed Quantity being less than the start quantity and determines the balance remaining.  If the Start quantity is negative and nothing is completed, the completed quantity will always be greater than the start quantity so the calculation will be 0.  We just fixed it and uploaded a patch to IN-A & IN-D.  Other programs that recalculate Stock Status will be recompiled with the new library logic as they are updated for other reasons.

That is great news!  Thank you Lynn and the entire team for the quick response!

Excuse my ignorance but where can we get the patch?

You will have to be on the current version (2016.2) and can download patches in Evo at System Manager SM-V.
