NEW ITEM NUMBER

How do I create a new Item Number?  
We have 2 parts that are of identical material and dimensions. One is made in house the other is bought in. I need to differentiate between the two but I can't figure out how to create a new Item Number.

IN-B is where new part numbers are created and existing ones edited.
