Unable to use index or search tabs in DBA Help
05/22/03 at 11:31:29

Since installing version 2002.4, I have not been able to use the index or search tabs in the help screen. Any ideas on how to restore this functionality?

Look in the DBAMFG folder for files named DBAHELP.*.  Make sure your Explorer settings are set to show extensions for known file types.  You should have DBAHELP.HLP and DBAHELP.CNT.  Those are the two files you need.  You may also have DBAHELP.GID and DBAHELP.FTS.  Delete those files, then when you load help the next time they will be recreated and will work.

Hi,

I tried this for the same issue and I am being told that it can't load the Find tab.

Any thoughts?

I had the same problem, but followed Lynn's directions.
Found DBAHELP.GID and deleted it.  The next time I openned Help, the Index tab was fully functional.   Smiley

After trying everything in previous messages about this topic, I still get the "Unable to display the Find tab (177)" message when I attempt to create a listing.  I am still unable to use the index or search tabs.  Our DBA folder has the following files:  DBAHELP ,  DBAHELP.B , dbahelp.cnt , DBAHELP.hlp (which appears to be an exact copy of the DBAHELP file) and DBAHLPID.B files shown.  We are on version 2002.4.  Can anyone help?
