Can't Use Maintain Database
09/11/03 at 08:38:23

I am the system administrator for DBA and have access to Maintain Database.  All of a sudden I'm not able to use it.  When I try to open it, the format of Maintain Database comes up but with no information.  Nothing at all.  When I hit the search button, I get this message:  Table cannot perform this operation on a Closed Data Set.  Any suggestions out there?

Try UT-A, program MDBFXREG.  Then exit DBA and come back in.

Lynn, I tried UT-A and it didn't work.  Still can't use it.

Try rebuilding the DDF files at UT-J.

I also haven't been able to run Maintain Database;
I get the following error:

"Btrieve Status 12 - The MicroKernel cannot find the specified file. Key=[M:\DBAMFG\FILE.DDF] DBIERR_NOSUCHFILE"

I tried UT-J and get the foloowing error:
"Run program M:\dbamfg\tasinit.RUN was not found." and sure enough, in my dbamfg directory there is no tasinit.run file.

I will email you a copy of TASINIT.RUN but it is odd that the file would disappear all by itself.  I suggest you do a clean install of DBA  into a dummy folder from the latest CD you have and compare the directories and see if any other files are missing.

Thanks... I just realized that and copied TASINIT.RUN from a backup, and now it's working. I'll check for other files.
