Karen, One thing you might check is the config.sys and autoexec.bat legacy files in the root directories of these machines. It may be that there are some DOS drivers or utilities being loaded that are consuming real mode memory. For example, if an older win 3.3 machine was upgraded to win 98, the realmode cdrom Drivers may still be loading. With Win 98, most of the old realmode drivers and tsr's are not needed. If they load, they just consume memory. I have run into problems before with a shortage of usable RAM with DBA. I know, you have multiple megabytes of RAM. However, in a non NT type environment, all RAM is not created equal!
