In IN-A I hit F2 lookup
select sort key User Defined
I get the list  OK so FAR
 
grab the scrol bar w the mouse and drag it 1/2 way down
 
hit exit
 
my machine gets the blue screen of death every time
 
win XP pro 2 gig ram 3Gh HT processor

Tried what you are doing... not happening here.  It exits to the IN-A screen.  We are on XP Pro also,

I know there are issues with the scroll bar in classic DBA.  I suspect it is related to the number of part numbers in the inventory file and data buffer overflow.  John (Shadowcaster) is in electronics industry, they have LOTS of part numbers.    
 
May also be a Classic/Evolution memory management issue - Karen has Evo, John doesn't - Hey, John, maybe it's time to try the free 30 day trial Wink  Be interesting to see if it makes a difference.
