Missing PO Line Items - Receiving Problem

I have a PO that was entered on 11/05/2008.

Yesterday, (November 18th, 2008) an attempt was made to receive all three line items on this PO.
PO-C reported that there were no items to receive on this PO Huh

I looked into the problem and discovered that the line items had disappeared from BKAPPOL.
I assumed someone messed up and I looked for the PO in BKAPHPO and BKAPHPOL. They were not there either. Huh

The PO Header in BKAPPO showed 8 in BKAP_PO_NL. (this is correct)
I got a printed copy of the PO and re-entered the line items. To do this, I had to do 8 Delete Lines from the
line item entry screen in PO-A so that the Items that I put in would also pull in the second description line and
vendor item code.

At this point, I told receiving that they could now receive the items on this PO. Cool

Receiving selects each item individually and verifies that what we received is what we ordered.
Everything appears to function normally. The receiving was made to inventory.

At the end of the day today, they ran out the receiving report and this PO was the only one received today that
did not show up. Sad

I checked the receiver, and there wasn't one Shocked

The Items did have transactions that showed a PO receipt. All dates looked fine.

I looked at BKAPPOL and found something interesting: Sad

For each PO line that had a Item number, the BKAP_POL_BUYOFF and BKAP_POL_SCRAP fields were populated with
the received quantity.
The comment lines had a 1 in their BKAP_POL_BUYOFF field and a 0 in the BKAP_POL_SCRAP field.

I looked at other PO's received today and all of them had 0 in these fields.
I unreceived all three line items so that I could try it.
When I did this, the BKAP_POL_BUYOFF and BKAP_POL_SCRAP fields got populated with a negative received quantity.
I zeroed out these fields and tried the receiving myself. The Same problems occurred for me on this PO.

To top it off, I checked the Vendor record in AP-A. We have been buying from this vendor for about 20 years. The
Start Dt field in the Vendor record has somehow been changed to today!!! (11/19/2008). I verified with the only other
person here with access to AP-A and she had not been in AP-A all day. cry

Any suggestions on what the heck could be happening with this PO would be appreciated.

Well, we found our missing line items. They all showed up in a different, newer PO, to the same vendor. The line item lines and comment lines were scattered around in the PO. Somehow, the PO Number field of those line items in BKAPPOL got changed to a different PO number (went from 220569 to 220577).

I wonder if maybe PO-A does not completely clear all of it's line item data structures if you stay in PO-A and inquire multiple PO's, but only save a few of them. Just a thought. I have seen other DBA applications that would run out of temp memory if you did not exit them and then got back in. Those have been resolved, but maybe a similar problem may exist in PO-A.

I still cannot figure out why, after adding in the missing line items, we cannot receive these items and get them to show up with a receiver or on the receiving report. We had to add a new PO to receive these items to.

We are looking into it.
