We are getting a new Win 2008 64bit server, and are going to Pervasive 11.  Has anyone had any issues with this combo?

If you install Pervasive 64 make sure that Evo can talk to it.
also if you are using applications like MS  Office and Cristal reports (32 bits)
make sure that they will be able to talk to pervasive

when you install pervasive and you have the firewall ON, you must open some ports otherwise will be have gigantic issues.

if you are a small company with not real requirement for 64 environment, save yourself time and money and install 32 both OS and Pervasive

I have customers running the configuration like yours without problems.  It is a little tricky to set up because of security issues, but works fine when set up.  You can install the 64 bit PSQL 11 Server version on your 2008 server, but only install the 32 bit PSQL 11 Client version on the client machines, even though some of the clients may be running in 64 bit mode, like Window 7 clients (Currently, Evo only runs in 32 bit mode).

In you download the Evo update instructions, there is some information about Evo and Server 2008.

Have they ever come out with 64-bit ODBC drivers? When I tried 64-bit PSQL two years ago there were none, so there was no way to connect Excel or CR, etc. to get data. Had to go find and install 32-bit versions out of the 32-bit server download undecided

Colin,

So far, I know only the 32 bit ODBC drivers work when accessing DBA/Evo files for Crystal, MS Access or Excel

Whe you install pervasive as a server or as a client on a workstation or server,
It will install the pervasive ODBC Drivers.

One the windows 2008, if you want to add a ODBC DNS you have to call
Either C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe or C:\WINDOWS\system32\odbcad32.exe
depending of the Pervasive version you installed (32 or 64)

on the workstation, if it is winxp
C:\WINDOWS\system32\odbcad32.exe

also you should read http://evoerp.com/webhelp/hs1047.htm
