Loss of ODBC connectivity
04/11/12 at 09:47:08

In the last few months, while using Crystal, I will occasionally get a log-on dialog. It's headed "ODBC (RDO)", has the ODBC Servername filled in and wants my credentials. I've tried my Windows login as well as the Domain Admin login and it will not accept.

A few times, restarting the Service on the Server has taken care of it, but more often than not we have to re-boot the server. I probably don't have to tell you how much of a pain that is, not leastly because we have Pervasive/DBA on a Small Business Server and it takes a good 15-20 minutes to reboot...

We just upgraded from Pervasive 2000i to v11_SP2, in large part because I thought maybe it would take care of this problem. Obviously not.

DBA/Evo continues to work fine 95% of the time. This happens on both a Win7x64 and XP-SP3x32 machine (always both at the same time); that, in conjunction with a server reboot fixing the problem, makes me assume it's server related.

Any ideas?

Do we have to recreate our ODBC Source since we updated Pervasive? If we try to edit the server ODBC it says that the database does not exist.

I created a new ODBC Engine and it works fine - apparently that was the problem this time. I guess we'll see if the original flaky problem is gone as well.
