Problems Running EVO
01/16/13 at 15:56:05

I can't seem to run EVO reliabily.

I have already Deleted the ADDSUM registry entry.

I just entered 2 customer Payments.  When I close that and go to print the check register for today,
this is what my screen shows when I tried selecting Print Check Register:

Dead EVO

Any Ideas on what is hanging up my machine?

If you log in as ADMIN, can you run IN-A, IN-B, AR-A but not GL-A, AP-I (for example)?  I have seen instances where the Security will not allow the old DBA style programs to run because they are launching a new instance of the TP7RUNTIME.EXE.  One specific instance was a new HP machine with a fingerprint scanner.  Once that security was disabled, Evo ran fine.

I'm logged into an NT domain on a Windows XP machine.

That login does have full Administrative privileges.

Which Security are you referring too?

DBA Classic user?
EVO ERP user?
Pervasive ?
Windows XP ?

I'm not sure I understand "Once THAT security was disabled, Evo ran fine."

The local workstation Windows add-on security (from HP in the specific example)

Well, I set up a virtual machine using VirtualBox on my PC.
10G system disk
512M RAM

I installed Windows XP PRO, SP2.
I then removed all the extra junk (games, MSN explorer, Outlook Express, etc.)
Turned off the swap file.
Set up a default printer.

Task Manager Showed almost 400M free Physical Ram in the Virtual Machine.
(I got it down to a lean, mean, XP PRO Machine!)

I installed Pervasive 2000i Client and then did a DBA Workstation Setup.
DBA Classic ran fine.

(Just for good measure, I made sure that there was a file in the c:\ISTS folder)

I then RAN EVOERP.exe from my network share.
EVO installed without error.

EVO seems to run without a problem in this stripped down, basic XP Machine.

There must be something installed or configured on our machines that do not allow EVO to run correctly.
(... to be continued)
