HH unit  for labor tracking

We want to use bar codes for labor tracking.  I saw where Lynn recommended a WASP WLR8950 long range a few years.  Before I buy anyd device  off Amazon I would appreciate some feedback.
Right now we have our guys clock in and out on Daily Labor Sheets and then it is manually entered it to computer via WO-E.

I see there has been a lot of interest in the DT90... but its very expensive.

Are there any training sessions available on barcodiing?
Thanks

We have been using the WSC3900 for quite some time for scanning of labor.  The staff have id cards to scan for their employee number and then they scan off of the traveler.  The 3900 does not provide for much distance when scanning but is more than adequate in our environment.  We utilize for both HH-F and DC-A.

Any barcode reader using the right protocol will work.  We are using some older Intermec Sabre scanners that are really rugged and well suited to our shop environment.

Also, as to the question about training for bar code, people tend to make a much bigger deal about bar code than it really is.  It is nothing more than a font that a special machine (scanner) can read.  At any point on any screen that the computer is waiting for a person to type something (not just in Evo, you could have Notepad open or anything), if you have a bar code scanner plugged into a USB port and scan a bar code, whatever the content of that bar code is will be pulled in exactly as if the person had typed it on the keyboard.  The computer doesn't care where it came from and doesn't treat it any different.
