Unable to specify Import File DE-C-B
06/08/18 at 12:39:27

In Import Bills of Material, (DE-C-B) version 1/19/18, when you have the window up you cannot select/add the import filename - it is greyed out and the button is not clickable.  It is defaulting to the H:\IMPORT\BOM.CSV file.  Can't even do logged in as the God Admin user.... we even tried putting the CSV file into the IMPORT folder...can't get it to work.

Walter periodically "obsoletes" BOMs because an item has been discontinued. He prints the BOM to a format and stores in an archived folder.  Then, a few years go by and he has to put one back into Evo because Sales has decided to sell the discontinued part again to a customer, so we have to build it.  So we were trying to see (in the test company) how he can bring back in the CSV file he has saved to help speed up the process of getting it all back into Evo....

???

You have to create the file in the correct format named BOM.CSV in the import subfolder.

oookkaaaayyyy....we are putting a BOM.CSV file in there.  Walter has a spreadsheet that was created when he printed the BOM, He tried copying the file and renaming to BOM.CSV and putting it in the import folder, and it still does not work.  So what are we missing?

When you say "You have to create the file in the correct format named BOM.CSV in the import subfolder" what exactly should Walter be putting in there if not this spreadsheet with the BOM info?

First you have to go to DE-C-A and create the Import header which is a CSV file with nothing in it except the column headers.  Then populate it with the data in the correct columns, then import.

Ok, so we did/have done that over and over. We can see the header file is in the import folder (BOM.csv) and a BOM.INI file.  However, when we then do DE-C-B, the box and button to select the file we wish to use is still greyed out. NO go, doesn't seem to allow us to select in/change, period.

Ideas?

Thanks,
Val

You do not select the file.  It will use the BOM.CSV in the IMPORT subfolder with the columns as designated in the INI file.  There is nothing to do other than press Process.
