JC Master Employee records
03/04/21 at 16:14:03

"There are some JC Master Employee records that do no have a corresponding PM Master record.  Would you like them add to PR Master?"

I went to add an employee  got the above message.  I have never seen this message before and wonder if it is a result of me changing some old employee numbers a few minutes ago? How should I answer as We do not use the payroll module for payroll, only to enter new employees for work order labor.

Thanks
Laura

This from my (personally customized) help page:

===================================
Go to System Mgr, TAS-D (Maintain Database).

Select BKPRMSTR.BVH
From the box that pops up, click the double-arrow to show all fields
At the top of the screen is a check-box that says "Allow editing". Put a check-mark in it.
The far left column has the employee numbers. Find the one(s) you want.
Select the box with the number and press <Enter>
Then change to the new number and press <Up> or <Down> arrow key.
It will ask you if you want to save the current record. (Yes).

Then we go to UT-K-B (Global field replace)

File Name is BKPRHIST
Scroll to and select BKPR.CURP.EMPNM as the Field Name
In "Enter value to replace" put the OLD employee number
In "Replace with value" put the NEW employee number
When it's done it will tell you how many it changed.
====================================

You probably shoudl try it in your SandBox company before doing it for real.....

If you are not using payroll you should be using SM-G to manage the employee entries, not the payroll module.  And if you are not using payroll there will be nothing in the BKPRHIST file.

Thanks Lynn.
When I tried to use SM-G to enter the employee I got the message :  the employee number already exists in the payroll records.  Contact the PR administrator to create the JC employee record

How do I fix this?

Thanks.
