help screens aren't working
11/13/14 at 13:10:47

When we bring up the evo help screen the left panel looks like it is populated correctly but the right panel is blank.  When we try web help we get "this web page is not available".

Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this?

Thanks

It is a Microsoft issue.  Is this when pressing F1 or Help - EvoHelp?

Web Help should work, it is pointing to http://www.evoerp.com/webhelp/evohelp.htm which seems to work.  if you copy the EVOLELP.CHM to your C:\ISTS\ folder and add a line to the [Setup] section of C:\ISTS\TASPRO7.INI that says

HelpFileName=c:\ists\EvoHELP.CHM

it should work.

Web Help is working now.

I can't find a file named EVOHELP.CHM.  I've got one named EVOHELP.CHW.

Should be .CHM.  What size is it?  Mine is 1,614 KB.

I have an EVOHELP file with no extension that is 1,614 KB.  I'm assuming that's the one I'm looking for.  I copied it to C:\ISTS and added the line to TASPRO7.INI but the right pane is still blank.

Did you log out of Evo and back in?  It only reads the INI file when you log in.

There are 3 files:

EVOHELP.CHM      1,643,867
Evohelp.chw           269,702
EVOHELP.PDF       7,669,516

You copied the right one but you better copy the .chw as well.

If you can not see the file extension change your option on the Windows Explorer

I copied the EVOLELP.CHM to my local  C:\ISTS\ folder ... and just for sport also copied EVOHELP.CHW.
I added the line HelpFileName=c:\ists\EvoHELP.CHM to the [Setup] section of C:\ISTS\TASPRO7.INI
I reset my workstation.
"
Sadly I still the see table of contents with no searchable data. OP description: "evo help screen the left panel looks like it is populated correctly but the right panel is blank.
Was this ever resolved?
Thanks
laura

Use help - webhelp for the HTML version but you need internet access.  Microsoft is blocking the CHM.
